The Universe – mrmba1

Simply put, the universe exists by accident and without purpose. Its accidental nature with no predetermined purpose results in its inhabitants searching for a purpose on their own. Many search for a meaning behind their own life and trick themselves into believing that one actually exists and was chosen for them. When in reality, those who reside within it are there just to pass time, and everything that happens takes place for the sole purpose of happening with no plan or end goal. The nonexistence of a purpose allows some to find a sense of freedom or peace, but to others it causes them to feel hopeless and without motivation.

Can I try something? A shorter version of your own sentences?

The universe exists by accident and without purpose. Its inhabitants, though, cannot accept life without meaning. They trick themselves into believing that they have found purpose for their individual lives, when in reality, they’re merely passing time without plans or goals. Some experience the lack of purpose as freedom or peace, while others feel hopeless and without motivation.

I’ll try to resist that impulse to rewrite, mrmba, but in this case it seems like the best approach. It’s just 58 words, so if you want to incorporate some of what it offers, you could use the balance to develop or illustrate your idea.
