Safe Injection Sites

It seems counterintuitive but is possibly true that Vancouver doesn’t fear addiction of drugs like other countries. Is giving heroin addicts what they want, really a good solution? The city has tried everything, but nothing seems to work, so why not try something that we can’t be held accountable for.

With the city flooding with drugs, the town looks for a solution for addiction. Vancouver’s drug problem tops the drug cities like Detroit and Baltimore. In recent years, Vancouver tried to create resolution called Insite but the problems don’t seem to stop even after the safe zone was created. 26 people in the city refuse to go get clean. Many believe that just giving them the drugs will eventually make them stop. The harm that they can cause to themselves and society will reduce with this solution.Europe,Switzerland,Germany, and Netherlands all took a stab at this program used by Vancouver.

Critics believe that this isn’t a good plan for both society and individual. Reported said that the city is killing addicts with kindness. It’s still will kill them but in a nicer way. Many rehab centers look to object this before it gets any worse. It’s hard to side against them with this situation. I believe nobody should have to rely on drugs to make themselves feel stable. This is disgusting the Vancouver is letting heroin addicts do whatever they want without consequences. What’s the point of having rehab centers, If we are going to just give them drugs whenever they want. This will bring alot of addicts to Vancover, just so they can have all the drugs they want.

Apple’s Face Palm

It seems counterintuitive but is possibly true that iPhone users fear about security more than the actual Apple company.  Apple which claims to have a high-level technical team seen nothing wrong with glitches? Or were they turning their heads on the protection of others privacy?

On January 19th, One 14-year-old kid discovered that he could spy on friends with his apple phone. His mother was so shocked that she sent the video of the hack to Apple. The company didn’t respond right away, so she took it into her own hands. On the website 9to5mac.com, the hack was shared and eventually went viral. The company then reacted to the facetime flaw, but still the process to fix it is still slow. Many believe that Apple should of know better. If somebody can figure out this bug, what other bugs are out there for Apple products?

If the problem was brought to their attention on January 19th, I can see not responding back on that day giving the technical support time to look into the claimant,  that should have not taken a week, and even after a week suggestion to the Thompson family to submit a formal bug report. This is scary because of the fact that I have an iPhone. Privacy should be the first thing a company should focus on when creating something new, but in this case, it wasn’t.

Faulti-Vitamins

It seems counterintuitive that a lot of people still don’t believe multi-vitamins increase a healthy life. Top stores such as Target, started selling vitamins that looked like gummy bears to increase sells. Do Multivitamins really work? You wouldn’t be able to figure this out until you actually invest. The results don’t lie, a lot of people have seen results after investing in multivitamins.

The National Institutes of Health stated that nearly a third of Americans take multivitamins every day. With number ranging in the $700 million areas, annual sales have been growing by double digits year after year. Evidence doesn’t really show that vitamins make you healthier, but a lot of people still believe the case. Multivitamins can still be a risk for an individual. Multi with iron could increase the risk of heart disease. This means you should read the back of the bottle before purchasing. You should stay away from taking too many vitamins because you still can get the same benefits with eating food. Before taking make sure you study all of the supplements and who it should be recommended for, so you can get the right effects of Multivitamins.

Vitamins are a good source of supplements for people who don’t eat properly on a daily basis or get the proper activity intake. A person who doesn’t go outside much only eats vegetables on an occasion would need to take a daily vitamin for iron and vitamin D.  Depending on you lifestyle spending money on vitamins can be a great thing or just a financial hardship. I would incourage anybody to invest, because of the fact that it helps ward off chronic illness.

Thanks for asking, NUF, I’ve been looking for an opportunity to interact with your posts.

First, I combined all three of your Purposeful Summaries here and deleted the individual posts.

Second, I’ve seen no change to your Hypothesis since our Conference. I expect you’ll improve it when you migrate it to your White Paper. So you know, I’ll be paying attention.

Now, as for the Vancouver Summary:

It seems counterintuitive but is possibly true that Vancouver doesn’t fear addiction of drugs like other countries. Is giving heroin addicts what they want, really a good solution? The city has tried everything, but nothing seems to work, so why not try something that we can’t be held accountable for.

I’m impressed with the subtle suggestion that Vancouver “doesn’t fear” addiction. Your assessment that cities resist direct support to addicts out of fear that they’ll be considered “soft on crime” seems very perceptive to me. Your rhetoric is weird in the last sentence though. I guess you’re pretending to quote the city of Vancouver when you offer: “something that WE can’t be held accountable for.” I’d suggest never using that particular technique.

With the city flooding with drugs, the town looks for a solution for addiction.

The present tense “looks” is very odd.

Vancouver’s drug problem tops the drug cities like Detroit and Baltimore.

This is weird too. “Tops” has a positive connotation, as in, “We are tops in our field.” Here you mean that it is more stricken by a negative than other cities.

In recent years, Vancouver tried to create resolution called Insite but the problems don’t seem to stop even after the safe zone was created.

Tenses are odd. TRIED/DON’T SEEM/WAS CREATED.

26 people in the city refuse to go get clean. Many believe that just giving them the drugs will eventually make them stop. The harm that they can cause to themselves and society will reduce with this solution. Europe,Switzerland,Germany, and Netherlands all took a stab at this program used by Vancouver.

Huh? You’re mixing positive, negative, and ambiguous results in one paragraph without discrimination or priority. Some refuse treatment. Some think drugs will end addiction. Some applaud the reduction in crime and harm. Other countries have tried similar programs.

Critics believe that this isn’t a good plan for both society and individual.

In a PURPOSEFUL Summary, you can’t let this “belief” go uncontested. Are the critics right or wrong? “Critics RIGHTLY believe . . . ” or “Critics WRONGLY believe.”

    ETC.

I’d be happy to remark further on the rest of your Vancouver entry, and on the rest of your summaries as well, but I want to start a dialog here first, NUF.

Reply, please. It’s how we meet the course objectives. 🙂
