The eradication of polio seems near impossible after countless attempts to defeat it. Over the years polio continues to diminish down to a minuscule amount of cases, to the point where one would think that the disease’s reign of terror is over. But the people of Nigeria should not continue to get there hopes up. Due to the lack of trust between citizens and government the cases continue to spike. Even though there is a vaccine for the virus it was found to contain AIDS and other harmful drugs. This then led to the vaccination being banned leading to an increase in polio cases yet again. It is an endless cycle of highs and lows of polio. The only way that polio can be eradicated is if the citizens of Nigeria fight their deep rooted issues and come together as a community to create a system of trust for the greater good of all.
