WWE’s Titus O’Neil|Fatherhood Involvement|Ad Council

0:00-0:03  The video opens to a buff man wearing a purple shirt, unbuttoned at the top, turning up the volume to a music player. The wall in the back shows regular paintings someone would see as average house decor. His trimmed beard and grin reflect a sharp personality. After raising his tunes, the camera cuts to him pouring out ice into a bucket, probably for drinks.

0:04-0:07 His next moves show him filling a bowl with pretzels and then seen with cans placing one back into the fridge. What is inside the can is unknown but there’s evidence that he could be hosting a party or get together with friends. The next cut shows the man open his front door with a serious face but immediately turns it to a great smile seeing the delivery man with his food.

0:08-0:11 After answering the door, the man proceeds to unfold a small, square, green table and folding chairs to go with it. The table could be for gambling or regular card play. As he settles into his seat, he takes out a deck of cards and places them on the table. At this point, we could assume that the “party” will contain music, snacks, drinks and card playing.

0:12-0:15 Purple shirt guy shuffles the deck and passes the cards to unknown players. These players could be friends, family, clients, who knows? Maybe he is the dealer or maybe he’s also a player.

0:16-0:19 The frame cuts to him reading his cards close to his face concealing them from other players and he looks to his left at one of his opponents and then the camera zooms out revealing his name and affiliation as WWE superstar, “Titus.” The camera zooms out revealing a kid on both sides of Titus with sandwiches and juice. Both kids are speaking to him as he looks concerned. Do these kids belong to Titus? Could they all be related?

0:20-0:24 Hearing the kids out, Titus cracks a smile and slams his cards to the table, laughing. Both kids are dancing as it appears the kid to his right won the game. Everyone smiles with joy as the camera cuts to black. Turns out the party wasn’t for adults only.

The Game Ending Hunger

0:00
The ad starts by showing 4 kids looking into the same direction. No facial hair and a bunch of babyfaces, which make me assume that they are young teenagers. The kid in the blue is constantly dribbling the ball. He must play for fun because all coaches teach don’t look at the ball. They have to be playing at a local park. You can see a caged fence and a tree with no leaves. Who are they looking at? Are they playing 4 on 4?

0:01
The ad introduces 4 other kids. 2 girls and 2 boys. Why does the first team have only 1 girl and the second one has 2? They must be playing a friendly basketball game because usually, you don’t see girls and boys play together. The kid with the blue shirt and the kid with the curly hair must be the captains of the team. The camera constantly focuses on them. The kid with the curly hair has his hands sticking out. Is the boy with the blue shirt about to pass him the ball? The first group of kids must have the ball first.

0:02
The kid with the curly hair throws the ball back to the kid in the blue shirt. The background shows no houses close by so is it at a school? The courts have nice nets. The two teams are facing eachother near the halfcourt line. Must be a halfcourt only game becuase you will see an inbound when it’s full-court.

0:03-0:10
The first group of kids gets the ball first. The kin in the blue shoots the ball and makes it. Is it make it take it? This court must be old because the coloring looks faded, but the surface still looks smooth. Who will be the first girl to make a shot for their team?

0:08
The kid with the grey shirt performs a no-look pass. He makes it look easy, he has to play basketball.

0:09-0:10
The girl with the white shirt receives the ball and looks like she is ready for the moment. Will she make the shot or will it rim out?

0:11-0:23
The girl with the white shirt must be athletic because after she hit the shot she performed a handstand. This game looks far from over though, they are barely tired. The kid with the black shorts and black shirt performs a layup and makes it.  The cameraman must be leaving out clips. The kid does a pull up on the side of the court. Does he lift weights? A lot of people find that hard to do at a young age.

0:24
The boy with the grey shirt and curly hair calls timeout. Why did he stop the game? Is he hurt? Does he have to leave?

0:25-0:28
The boy lips are moving towards the group. What is he saying? Does this mean his mom is strict? Why did the camera zoom in on him? Looks like he really doesn’t want to go home.

0:28-0:30
The kids stop playing and sit down. The white girl with the long hair receives a text and looks at the girl in the grey shirt. Does this mean they are sisters? Why does there mother want them home so early it’s not dark? Is it time for dinner for them too? They must live close by because they aren’t getting picked up or maybe that’s the reason why she told them to come home now so they will make it in before dark.

  • This ad didn’t have a 30-second version, but in the end, the boy in the blue shirt is the last one on the court. A caption appears on the screen stating that 1 in 8 Americans struggle with hunger. Does this kid struggle with hunger? All together there were 8 kids and now it’s just him. The ad is trying to inform you of the kids that struggle every day to eat. You can help by donating any type of money, it doesn’t have to be big bills. Feeding America must be a company or organization. The link says “FeedingAmerica.org”, so this must be a way to inform me on where to go when I want to donate.

0:01- The scene opens up on a modern home living room, showing a women who seems to be wearing a robe, and 2 dogs. The robe indicates that she has probably just woken up, which leads us to believe that she lives in the home being shown. There is a bright light coming through the window, shining behind the various plants in her house. It is very sunny so we can infer she leaves in a sunny area, or it is a nice day. The two dogs, and the woman look happy and the dogs look as if they are waiting for a treat because she has her hand held out as if she has something in it to give to the dogs.

0:02- The words that project on the screen, “The shelter pet project presents,” indicates that this is a commercial for animals. This clip also shows one of the dogs high-fiving the owner from the previous shot. The other dog sits behind the black and white dog who is giving her owner a high-five. This leads us to think that the dogs are doing tricks to earn their treat.

0:03- the woman is shown outside with her two dogs. This shows that she loves both her rescues equally. This may show that she is with her dogs everywhere she goes, which supports the idea that adopting the dogs gave her two best friends to always keep her company.

0:04- the woman and her two dogs are outside, in front of what looks like the bottom of a palm tree, so we can conclude that they live in a sunny area, like california. Their names come up on the screen to show that this story is about them.

0: 08- The woman is talking to one of the dogs, the dog sitting on the couch opposite to her. She is laying down and gesturing as though she is venting or complaining about something, and the dog is positioned to look like she is listening to her owner. This shows that the dog is someone that the woman can talk to, like the dog is her best friend or therapist.

0:013- The woman is playing with the two dogs outside, and looks like she is struggling to play tug of war with the white dog. The struggle  in her face shows she is putting in effort which leads us ot the conclusion that this game is a workout for her. The words on the screen “personal trainers” confirm that the dogs can serve a purpose as a fitness trainer as well.

0:019- This scene goes back to the modern living room inside.l The woman is putting on a hat to see if matches with her outfit, and is talking to her dogs as they sit behind her. The dogs watch her and listen as she tries on the hat, and stare at it, leading us t believe they are also helping her with her fashion choices.

0:21- The woman is now playing with the dogs in her kitchen, leading us to believe she loves them and she loves to have fun and play with them. At this point we can conclude that she lives alone with her two dogs because the house seems very empty.

0:22- The woman, Olivia, takes a selfie with her dogs outside. She is holding her dogs to show how she cares for them. The picture is a way to showcase her love for the dogs, and show the world how happy she is with them in her life. From this we can conclude that she posted it on some form of social media.

0:24- She kisses and pets her dogs, showing that she loves them and cares for them deeply.

0:27- The words “theshelterpetproject.org” and “#AdoptPureLove” come on the screen, and we can conclude that the commercial is an add for a pet shelter. They are trying to get people to adopt a dog by selling the image that if you adopt a dog from the shelter, you will gain pure love.

0:00-0:01- We see a hand holding a pencil. The hand seems to be doing homework with the pencil. It looks like common math; maybe middle school level. There is also a lot of other work around the hand. Whoever is working on their homework must be swapped with a very big work load.

0:02-0:04- We see a girl’s face a then a hand run through her hair as she makes a tired looking face. It is most likely that she is the one with a lot of homework and that she is very frustrated and tired because she has so much work to do.

0:05-0:08- The girl shakes her head in disapproval and then erases all of her work. Now, another man is sitting next to her at a table. It appears to be her father or guardian that is helping her to try and complete her homework. he also has a sad look on his face. This is most likely because he is sad that his daughter is so frustrated from all of the work that she has and her difficulty with the math homework.

0:09-0:12- The camera angle changes and we see the man, most likely her father, reach into his pocket and pull out his phone. it is most likely that he is going to try and research too help his daughter out with her homework.

0:13- 0:18- first we see the father pull out his phone and use the calculator app. Then we see his face look at the phone in confusion. After that we see the daughter glance over at her father and she catches him using his phone. He immediately throws the phone on the table as if he was never using it because he does not want his daughter to know that he was using his phone as a calculator when he really should be learning it so he can teach it to her to make her a better student because she is struggling.

0:19-0:23- WE see the two of them now in the same shot and the daughter looks at her father and smirks because she knows exactly what he was doing. Then a graphic comes up[ on screen that says “If you love them you will relearn it for them” This is to show that he put the calculator down because he knows that he should learn the math information with her to help her.

0:24-0:30- Blue screen with the NHTSA.gov graphic because it was their video made to say that if you love your daughter enough to help with their homework then surely you want them to have proper child car safety as well.

Visual Rewrite–Wazoo

0:00-0:01

At First I see a totaled car pulling into a driveway. The car is a minivan which indicates it belongs to a family. Also it is pulling into an average middle class home driveway. The car is a mini van so they are probably middle class people. There is a woman watering plants in the driveway, but by the looks of it everything looks dead and grey in the picture. All plants are dead and the trees have no leaves. Also the sky is cloudy. It seems to be winter. The author may be trying to show us a dead environment.

0:02-0:03

Now we see a girl get out of the car. Teenager and maybe in high school. The dents are more visible, but the girl seems to not even notice all the dents on her car. Shows how careless she is. This kind of compares to an average teenager who doesn’t have a care in the world for their safety.

0:04-0:05

The woman speaks to the girl, by the look on her face she seems frightened and worried. The director is showing us that the woman is a concerned figure in the girls life and probably her mother.

0:06 The girl talks to her mother and we can see how care less the girl looks, but its the mothers fault for not stepping in,But you can tell her mother is disappointed. The author is showing us that the girl and her mother do not get along because of her issue of getting into accidents.

0:08-10 The girl and the mother both seem to not like each other or just be annoyed with each other because they roll their eyes at each other. The author is showing u this because every teenager argues with their parents and it makes people relate to it.

0:11 The girl looks pretty casual acting like is normal Because her whole car is wrecked. This shows a careless girl who thinks that nothing bad can happen and that she is invincible. ( Even though her car is)

0:12 Now I see a bulldozer ripping the front bumper off the car. Creates a scene of destruction and fear.

0:13 Now I see her mother starting to show emotion. She looks afraid. Author shows this to show the mother does fear something.

0:14-0:19 A man opens the door During the conversation both seemed to think of it as a joke and were laughing. The man, probably her father destroys her bumper on her car and continues to laugh. Meanwhile the mother is fearful of the dad. This shows that texting and driving is passed down and if kids parents do it, they are likely to do the same. It also show us the dominate role most father figures play in their childs life.

0:20-0:23
a black screen with a message comes up. it says Distracted driving is NO JOKE. Also This ad is pretty easy to conclude what they are trying to portray. It is an average family just like mine, and the girl thinks it’s alright to drive distracted. Then they show us what happens to your car when you drive distracted. It also shows that a parent that is not being protective is actually inciting harm on his child. This ad uses a lot of sarcasm to portray their argument. It takes something that everyone knows is not a joke and makes it seem like a joke to make people not like the people in the ad and to not be like them.

Distinguishing Euthanasia and
Physician Assisted Suicide

When speaking of incurable diseases and the suffering of patients with mental disorders, two options are made available. The first being euthanasia, the second being physician assisted suicide. Euthanasia is a method of the painless killing of a patient who is suffering a painful or incurable disease. The procedure is take place is a hospitable area and the patient is instructed by doctors and other medical professionals of the results of the procedure. In physician assisted suicide, if approved by a doctor and several other medical professionals, a patient does not necessarily have to suffer from an incurable disease to have approval of participating in the procedure.

There are many differences between both procedures. First, the reason for wanting the procedure. In the case of euthanasia, the patient who is requesting the procedure must have a terminal incurable disease and the family of the patient must agree. In assistant suicide, in Oregon for example, individuals who were of legal age, had the choice of an assisted suicide (Death with Dignity Law). The patient or client did not have suffer from an incurable disease.

Next, the biggest difference is the process of which both procedures occur. In euthanasia, once the patient is diagnosed with the terminal disease, if the doctor suggests or offers euthanasia as an alternative from suffering, the patient will make their decision. If the patient decides to prolong the procedure, he or she will than have to inform their family and complete counseling following up to the procedure. Then, the day of the procedure a drug know as pentobarbital is given to the patient by either IV or injection. Pentobarbital eventually makes the patient unconscious in one to two minutes and shuts down the brain and heart functions.

Next, there are three types of euthanasia, voluntary, non-voluntary, and involuntary. Voluntary euthanasia is done with the patients consent, and the patient understands his or her decision. Non-voluntary euthanasia is when the procedure is conducted on someone who was unable to consent due to their current health condition. In that scenario, another appropriate person, on the patients behalf can make the decision. Lastly, involuntary euthanasia is when the patient or a person is able to give consent but doesn’t and is forced to go through the procedure against their will.

To complete the procedure, there are two options the patient has active and passive. Passive euthanasia is when a medical professional offers strong doses of medication which will eventually become toxic to the patient. Active euthanasia is the use of a lethal substance to end a patients life. Active euthanasia is commonly argued and countered against moral, ethical, and religious reasoning.

On the other hand, in assisted suicide is more self reliant procedure. An individual will be administered a strong prescription of drugs. The patient has to sign a total of six to seven times a consent form for the procedure from the day they sign for the procedure to the day of. The reason for many signatures is so the patient doesn’t feel as though they have to proceed in the operation after changing his or her mind. Alongside the paper work, yet another form is asked to be signed 48 hours prior to the operation. Next, the day of the procedure the participant is given a bottle of prescription pills authorized by a doctor. With a physician alongside him or her, the participant is instructed to take the pills which will slowly put the patient into a deep coma. The patient is allowed to decide when he or she is ready to take the prescription drug.

Another means of difference between euthanasia and assisted suicide is the state of where each procedure can be performed. Active human euthanasia is legal outside the U.S in countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Columbia, and Canada. Assisted suicide is legal in Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands. In the U.S, assisted suicide is legal in Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Hawaii, Colorado, and California.

In the U.S, the states that allow physician assisted suicide have what is called a Death by Dignity law. This law allows terminally ill, qualified adults voluntarily request and receive a prescription drug to hasten their death. One of the most important elements when discussing assisted suicide is the state of mind the patient is in when making the decision. All states that have an active Death with Dignity law require that the patient has no history of extreme mental illness and is competent to make decisions. Though many who believe this counters the right to choose death at your own call, physicians and other medical professionals would not want patients applying for assisted suicide based on a drive of emotions.

Grammar Exercise- Nina

If a primary caregiver has a negative attitude toward their child, it increases the risk that their child will grow up hostile towards others. And its not just aggression toward others that results from child abuse. A large amount of children raised by abusive parents also harm themselves. The reason for this negative behavior is caused by children who don’t learn appropriate techniques for handling life’s disappointments. If someone aren’t raised with coping skills, they’re more likely to act “inappropriately” than if they were to develop more reasonable approaches. The effect of poor parenting as reported by Dr. Geoffrey Dahmer in “The Bully Papers”, is that everyone gets the child they deserve.

The Coworker #That’s Harassment

0:00-0:04

The focus fades from black , we are now introduced to a new room. The camera is shaky and moves as though we are viewing the scene from outside. Most likely because of the window on the other side of the room shows that it is night time and we are not supposed to see what is going on after hours. The lights are also on which indicates lighting had to be used because it was too dark. Looking at the walls we are dealing with some type of restaurant or bar. Wine bottles and other forms of alcohol are on the shelves alongside some wine glasses underneath it.

There are lemons and limes on the brown counter top along side a squeezer, possibly for the drinks that are up on the wall or preparing for the next time these fruits will be used. Looking at the wall, there are wooden tiles and brown, most likely a country setting or somewhere in the town.

There are two coworkers, one a man, the other a woman. They both look like they can be around the ages of thirty or the late twenties. Both can possibly be single. The man has on a plaid shirt with a hat and happens to be washing dishes. The woman has red hair, is wearing a blue shirt and is squeezing the limes and the lemons.

0:04-0:06

Both the man and the woman are engaging in conversation with one another. The man says something and the red headed woman laughs as she lifts her hand to show that she is still squeezing lemons and limes for the next day of work. She is tipping the juice from from the lime into a tall clear container with a top off to the side. Most likely saving it for future usage.

While she continues to laugh and he continues to speak, he begins to smile at her from the short distance that they stand between one another. He looks at her face and realizes that she finds him comical. Maybe, for this thought, he may continue to make jokes to impress her. This could show that he is interested in the woman he works with. Both characters are attractive enough for dating or being a relationship so it could be a possibility.

0:06-0:08

The coworkers continue to talk and he continues to make the red headed woman laugh. The camera is still moving a little and showing us that we are viewing this event from outside. The audience can see that cut out of the window . This is possibly an event occurs after work, casual conversation between workers possibly discussing how their day went, customers they’ve encountered, and highs and lows of their shift for the day just as a lot of coworkers do at the end of their day. It seems as though the man may have asked a question or suggested something. She laughs and may have said no or just laughed it off.

After he views her reaction, he continues to talk. He then turns his head and looks at her for the second time and she’s only looked at him once. He may be more interested in her than she is in him. He continues to look at her the second time, but not only at her face. He evaluates her body in a way, looking up and down at her and continues the conversation. Possibly admiring her shape and shows he is relatively interested in her looks and body.

0:08-0:09

The screen fades to black. In white letters the captions states “Based on a real incident.” This shows that what is about to happen next may be a bad result due to the word “incident”. Incidents, meaning that someone was hurt or something cause someone to hurt others. The text can also imply that this can happen in many settings and our audiences setting is in a restaurant. We may get a visual representation of this “incident” that occurs .

0:09-0:12

The screen remains black for about two more seconds and fades back to the original setting. The camera moves slightly to the right We may be introduced to a new situation due to the message given to us by the captions. At this point, the male coworker has shifted his place in the area. He is now closer to the woman but on the opposite side (her left). She continues to work and squeeze the fruits into juice. The man is still talking but is pointing to an area off camera and looking off into that direction, suggesting she goes back there with her by his hand gestures. Her back is still turned to him, showing that she isn’t interested in what he is saying or just wants work.

0:12-0:15

The man now turns back around. He rolls up his sleeves and he is still trying to make direct contact with the woman although she continues to work regardless of what he says.

0:15-0:18

Now we see why the male coworker proceeded to talk to the woman. He moves completely behind the woman and this time he touches her hair. Pushing it behind her ear as if her were going to tell her a secret of some sort. At this point the woman still has yet to react to him touching her hair because she continues to work around his chatting and movement.

0:18-0:21

After pushing her hair fully behind her ear, he leans in towards her ear and whispers to her. She is still smiling and laughing and mouths the word “what”. Perhaps she didn’t react because she was unable to understand what he had said or just surprised at what he said but cannot comprehend why he would say something of that sort. This is also the first time we see the woman stop working to take time and actually listen directly to what he is saying. Also after the man leaves his original space, we can see a collection of photos in frames in the back of the shot. Possibly customers or family members of the employees or the manager.

0:21-0:25

She then puts down the fruits and the squeezer she was using to clearly pay attention to what the man is about to say. He begins to whisper to her again in her ear, possibly what he said before or something slightly different. As he continues he bites on her ear. Her smile quickly wipes off her face, she doesn’t want to take part in anything he wanted her to do. She moves back slightly showing the audience that she in uncomfortable. The camera then fades to black. The camera going black can indicate he continued his actions with the woman, and leaves to audience to guess what happened next.

0:25

The screen then has more captions prop up across the screen with the words “#Thats Harassment” . Going back to the first caption we see in the beginning of the video “Based on a real incident”, the audience can conclude that harassment in the work area occurs when no one else is around and women are harassed while working late hours. The build up of his starting small talk, and then the biting of her ear and touching of her hair shows the conversation may have been extremely sexual.

Visual Rhetoric Rewrite- pomegranate

0:00-0:01

In the first few milliseconds, we are shown a building. It looks like it’s in the city. We cannot be too sure of which one, though. It looks like a very modernized building, with many windows and unique shape structure. It is not the only building around, there are many tall and short buildings behind and next to the building of main focus. The shot we are getting of this building is across the street, this is probably so we can see the entire building. There are cars on the streets, along with people, probably trying to commute somewhere. It is unclear what time of day it is, so we cannot assume they are on their way to work or school, or wherever. We also cannot tell what type of building we are being shown. We can assume anything, an office building, or a school, or a train station, or bus station, anything. The author shows us this to set the scene. So that viewers get an idea of where the story within this video is taking place.

Still within the same few milliseconds leading up to the first second, the camera suddenly switches to what we can assume to be inside one of the buildings. There are two people in the middle of the room in which the scene is set. There are books on the ground near the two people, and people on a bench reading in the back, and many other people holding books. The girls and boys are all wearing uniforms as well, so we can assume that this is taking place at a school. There is someone who looks to be on their phone next to the two people in the middle. It is unclear what he is doing though, whether he is recording the two people in the middle, or if he’s just on his phone. The author probably does this to show a realistic school setting. The author does this by having characters wear uniforms and have backpacks and books.

0:02-0:03

At the second second, we get a zoomed in picture of the two people in the middle of the room. There is now a crowd of people with their phones out and pointed to the people in the middle. This should indicate that something is going on. The one boy looks like hes standing above another boy. However, the boy that is beneath the one standing up looks like he has a grip on the boy who is standing above him. The boy who is standing above him has no grip at all. Everyone around is not trying to stop what is going on, they are just continuing to record and let whatever is happening continue to go on. In the same second, we continue on with the boy who was standing up, the boy beneath him had a tight grip on, be thrown from where he was standing and over the boy who was under him. The author does this to show a form of bullying. As by the title, we are told this is an ad about bullying, so we are lead to believe that the boy being thrown is in some way being bullied. Then the frame suddenly switches to a clock, and the seconds hand switches to twelve indicating a new minute. The author probably did this to show that class has just ended, and it is time for the students to go out in the hallway to switch classes.

0:04-0:05

At second four, we see that the boy who was being thrown earlier in the video is now on the inside of the bathroom door with his back pressed up against the door. It looks as if he is breathing heavy, and ran to try and get away from someone. Within the same second we see a backwards moving view of the hallway and all of the people in the hallway are staring towards the camera. The author probably does this to show that the boy feels like an outcast and wants to get away from people like the boy in the beginning who physically abuse him. The author probably shows the people staring to indicate that the boy feels almost like all the time everyone is staring at him and is judging him. Now, the camera flips to the boys eyes. His eyes widen for now he feels the sudden anxiety that everyone is staring at him. The author clearly knows how it feels when someone feels this way and wants to clearly show viewers that if they feel this way, it is not right.

0:06-0:07

We now find that the boys head is in a locker for he is avoiding all contact and conversation with anyone walking by or in the hall. He quickly closes the locker and runs still trying to avoid any conversation or confrontation. Suddenly the clip changes to a boy standing by a moving train. He is just standing there, facing the train, and watching it move, feeling the wind formed by the train move his clothes and cause a breeze. The boy is standing relatively close to the train, and we are unsure what he is going to do next. Will he stand back, will he make a move forward? We are left unknown. The author probably does this to let you think of your own outcome, making you wonder what he will really do next. The train comes pretty quick, and the boy still does not move away from the train. He is inches away, letting the train nearly take his life.

0:08-0:09

The train finally passes and we then switch to a view of the city. Anyone who is familiar with their cities knows that this is New York City being shown. There is a lightning bolt. This means it is a stormy night. The author probably did this to further set the scene and show what kind of night it is when the ad is taking place. The picture quickly changes and we see the boy who was being bullied reflection on a wall of glass, enclosing a Spider-Man suit. The author probably does this to show that the boy is probably Spider-Man. This is ironic because this boy is being bullied, and Spider-Man is someone who helps people, so why can’t this boy help himself.

0:10-0:12

We get another quick look at the real Spider-Man suit. Suddenly the camera flips and we see another version of Spider-Man, he seems to be upside down sticking to a wall, he turns his head and the camera switches. We then see two people sitting on the side of a moving train. On a bench, one older man and one younger. The boy who was bullied then shows up and we see him for a very short second. The author does this so you can try and guess who is the real Spider-Man and where the boy who is getting bullied falls into this. The train is probably because this is the only hideaway they have so that Spider-Man won’t get caught. This could also just be a place for the boy who was bullied to think.

0:13-0:14

We get a short look of the skyline of New York, and suddenly the second version of Spider-Man, we get a back view of him at first, and then suddenly a front view. The mask gets ripped half way off and sits on his forehead. We now come to find that the person in the other version of Spider-Man is the boy who has been being bullied. He looks as though he is out of breath. This is probably because he was running or trying to get away from someone or something. The author does this to show that the boy that has so much going on is trying to do the most for everyone else even though he has his own problems.

0:15-0:16

We see the real Spider-Man in this short time span. They are back by the moving train, like before. They are the only one’s there so the masks are off and they are free to be themselves. He looks as if he is talking. We can assume he is talking to the boy who is the other version of Spider-Man. It is unclear what they are talking about at first, but he has his finger up, so he must be saying one of something. The author probably does this to show that Spider-Man is giving the other Spider-Man advice on how to be the best version of Spider-Man he could be.

0:16-0:17

We are now back at the school and the bullied boy accidentally bumps into a girl. In the middle of the hallway. Everyone is off to the side and minding their own business and the boy in the middle bumps into the girl. The author probably does this to emphasize that they are the main point of attention, they are in the middle and we should be paying attention to what is going on between the two of them. She turns around, looking shocked or taken back. This is because she didn’t expect to be bumped into nor did she expect it to be him in particular.

0:18-0:19

In the next frame, we see the boy talking to someone who we can assume to be his father. They are on a couch in a room with many things on the table in front of them. There is a neon sin behind them and a music system to the right. If they are not in a traditional apartment, they could be in a bar or a studio room, it is hard to tell what kind of room they are in. The man has a hand on the boys shoulder. This makes it seem like he is giving very important life advice. He is wearing camo pants and a gray shirt. What can we assume out of this? Is he serving the country? Is this just his style? The boy looks at him with admiration almost. He looks as if he is either drawing or taking notes. They seem to be sitting pretty casual with each other so they must know and be comfortable with each other.

Suddenly, within the same second it fades to the girl laughing in the middle of class, it looks as if they are watching something, so she found it funny. Then it fades to the Spider boy hanging upside down in someones room, and gives the boy who he is next to a fist bump. The boy looks shocked yet almost happy that the boy is there. He is what looks like taken back and his eyes are wide. He is wearing a beanie and a graphic tee. Many will assume he is the stereotypical video gamer. They seem to be in what looks like the boy with beanies room.

0:20-0:21

We see the boy from earlier who was standing very close to the train, on the side of a building just sitting there. We are now able to assume that it is the boy who was being bullied, because he is form of Spider-Man so he has the ability to stick to walls and such. This is just to show that he is observing and looking over the city. However, this could also mean that he is thinking of something. Then we see his hand break glass, and we see that the hand has the spider outfit on, and the boy on the side of the building is indeed the boy who was being bullied. The camera flips to the boy jumping off of the building. He is in mid air and his arms are out to his sides. He is just letting the air carry him, that’s what this looks like. The author does this so that the audience can wonder what he is actually doing. Is he going to save himself? Is he done with all of the bullying and feeling like an outcast that he is going to end it all?

0:22-0:23

We see the boy continuing to fall, and he is flipping backwards, once again, just allowing the air to take him. Then the camera switches to the boy standing in front of the girl with his hand on her shoulder. They are back at school and it looks like they are in about the same spot they were when the boy bumped into the girl. It looks like he is saying something, but we are not sure what. He has a grin, that looks like a nervous grin, on his face. We can assume that he asked her something, and that his answer can decipher whether or not he is going to let the wind really take him when he jumped off that building. She looks down at his hand on her shoulder. We cannot tell if she is exactly uncomfortable or what. She says something back to him, and this is the moment of truth for him. The author does this to show that it just takes one person for a person to change their view point on just about anything.

0:24-0:25

The camera switches back to the same scene where the boy jumps from the side of the building. We see the top of another building that the boy is heading towards. We can tell that he is falling pretty fast because of the movement of his clothes in the wind and the speed in which the camera was following him. Then, we see a thin white thing shoot up the screen, something that looks like a web, like the one that Spider-Man shoots. Quickly we see the hands of the boy go up and he flips around gripping the web. It saves him, and the camera zooms in on the Spider logo on his chest. We can assume that the girl earlier said the right thing to him to make him want to shoot that web. The author does this to show that the boy only needed one friend to keep him from wanting to end it all, and the girl led him to shoot his web. The ad then ends and the information for the bullying ad council comes up.

Steroid users in the Baseball Hall of Fame. We already know that they are there, but we will not let more in if they are known. Why is that? There has been this huge dispute over whether known steroid users should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame or not. To be honest, there is a good argument for both sides here, but one side has to get the edge. A very big baseball player, named Joe Morgan, expressed his concerns regarding known steroid users in the baseball hall of fame. He is 100 percent against it happening. His reasons are that it is “not right,” “they take away from other players who did not use,” and “already established hall of famers with no longer come to Cooperstown.

First off, Joe Morgan’s first point is obvious, but there is no reasoning for it. Like obviously we know that it is not right to go against the rules. Nobody said it was right. But many people believe that known steroid users should still be in the Baseball Hall of Fame whether it is right or wrong. Joe Morgan stated “They cheated. Steroid users don’t belong here. It’s not right.” Right there when he says “Steroid users don’t belong here” is right where you can stop him. That is because there are already cheaters in the hall of fame. Clearly they do belong there if there are already some of them in the hall of fame. Yes they may have cheated the rules along the way, but they did still accomplish what they did and it should be recognized. That is why the solution of putting an asterisk on a players name who did something wrong would be the best way to go.

Next, Joe Morgan’s second argument does seem to catch the eye and make someone think a lot about it. Morgan states, “By cheating, they put up huge numbers, and they made great players who didn’t cheat look smaller by comparison, taking away from their achievements and consideration for the Hall of Fame.” This is actually very true. There most likely are other players that are not in the Hall of Fame that would be if some other players did not cheat and use steroids. Obviously we can not say this for sure but the probability is very high. With that being said, it is still very hard to not put some crazy accomplishments in the hall of fame, such as Barry Bonds with his Home run Records. Like it was stated before, known steroid users should be in the hall of fame with an asterisk next to their name because there are already cheaters in the hall of fame. Some we know about and others we do not. Eventually there has to be a solution and this is the most fair way to do it. There is no perfect way.

Lastly, Joe Morgan makes the argument that some previously established hall of famers will no longer go to Cooperstown. Many of them believe it is unfair since they did not use steroids or cheat in any way. Joe Morgan says, “It’s gotten to the point where Hall of Famers are saying that if steroid users get in, they’ll no longer come to Cooperstown for Induction Ceremonies or other events.” For this all we can say is that they are missing out. Who would not want to be there for the induction of Barry Bonds or even Roger Clemens? It does not matter if it goes against your beliefs because that is such a historic moment that everyone would want to be there for. Arguably one of the most successful baseball players getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame is something we do not want to miss.

Overall there are many points to both sides of why known steroid users should or should not be allowed into the Baseball Hall of Fame. It turns out the benefits of known steroid users being in the hall of fame just outweighs the costs in the end. Guys like Joe Morgan may say it is not fair, but it really is when you think about how many players that are already in the Baseball Hall of Fame have cheated and used steroids or other performance enhancers throughout their careers. It only makes sense to find a way to include the newer guys that may have fiddled with the rules.
