   Not one student so far has passed my courses with a research project devoted to the premise that marijuana should be legal in the United States. That may be a coincidence, but it’s almost certainly a good reason not to play the odds.

   Your other premise is much more intriguing, and the place to begin would be defining what you mean by “hurt the economy.” That may sound obvious, but it’s not. I hope we’ll have a chance to begin that conversation Monday if you’re interested.
